We have decided to try to go to more of the state parks and local fun places around orlando with the kids. This saturday we went to Homosassa state park about an hour and half north west of orlando. It is a amazing state park around a spring that feeds into a river. They have all sorts of animals throughout the park and educational presentations. Everyone had a great time.No florida state park would be compleet without plenty of aligators.

This hippopotamus seemed very lonely in his little pond.

The manatee are in the spring around an observatory. You can see them from above and below the water.
The park ranger does a presentation and then gets in the water and feeds the manatee lettauce and carrots.
